The Ponderings of a Big Foot Buddha

2003-03-29 - 9:47 a.m.

Wife & I sometimes sleep in different bedrooms due to our different work schedules.

Nothing wrong with this or our releationships just we work different days & have different start times. (I really hate getting woke up at 4:00 am on a day I don't need to be in the office until 8:00 am hehe)

When I sleep downstairs our Malamute gets to sleep on the bed, this is the only time she's allowed on any of the beds. Now you have to understand Malamutes are fuzzy peopel too, just like me. Since people get to use a pillow in bed she wants one too.

I usually have about 6 pillows on the downstairs bed (all our spares) so her getting to use a pillow is a given.

Weeeellll last night I happened to not notice she didn't have her pillow out it had been tossed the big pile of them up in the corner of the bed. So she just figured since I was only using a part of mine she'd just rest her head on the corner. (cuddly mal's are warm, hot even since I like sleeping in a cold room this is counter productive) It turns out she didn't have enough pillow.

squirm, squirm and now I have a doggie nose pressed into the hollow between my neck & shoulder blowing wet hot doggie breath all over me. So i move over a bit. A few more minsutes go by & squirm squirm I have a doggie nose shoved back in that hollow blowing hot doggie breath all over me again.

So I move over a bit more. Now at this point I'm nearly dead asleep so when she does the squirm, squirm thing one more time I just more over to get to a cool spot without thinking.

This is when I realize I now have no more pillow at all, she has all of it to herself & she's not squirming over any more. It seems this was her intention all along.

I roll over & there she is with that satisfied mal grin on her face all stretched out with the pillow to herself. Just like she had planned.

btw pulling out the pillow & poofing her with her pillow then leads to an excited round of frolicing and pouncing about the room and about 400 laps around the back yard for us (her mostly, me mostly wheezing & gasping after 200 laps) to calm down and go back to bed. hehe

So note to self from now on I make sure she gets her own pillow & no more pillow fights with Malamutes I get winded to easy.
