The Ponderings of a Big Foot Buddha

2003-05-02 - 6:56 p.m.

For a farm boy I sure get attached to rodents.

My wife has a small stable of assorted guinea pigs (5), a hamster, a bunny , a pair of wee mices and now nine new baby mices. I only lay claim a large fluffy malamute myself. Now for obvious reasons we can’t mix and match some of our pets as one of them would think the others are either food or squeaker toys. That would be a very bad idea. So while most of my fur therapy time is spent with our dog I do like the little critters too and they seem to appreciate me as well (ask my wife about this).

Growing up on a farm these types of critters were highly destructive and potentially disease bearing. So eradicating them was a constant chore. But no my wife has an ill wheezy guinea pig. I’m finding myself to be pretty concerned over his health. I even found myself quite distracted over it after my wife called me at work yesterday to tell me she had to take him to the vet.

I really like the long haired fluffy spaz.
